Click on a button to hear a sound from the island of Kyushu, which will open in a new window. You can then construct your own composition through choosing the permutations of the 116 different tracks presented, which represent just one perspective on the audio character of this place and time. We envisage creating multiple sound maps of locations across Japan, with contributions from as many different people and places as we are able to gather.
